I wrote this poem while on a bus tour of the interior of Alaska... The passengers were asked to draw specific items on a postcard with crayons and then pass it back to the next participant to draw on until everyone on the bus had left their mark. Once we received the card that we had started with, we were asked to write a poem about the picture. This was my poem:
Moosey Lucy was a dangerous beast! With great big blue antlers and razor-sharp teeth… She was a lonely dame, wandering in Denali, When she met her mate; his name was Svengali. They were happy together until she found out… That her sweet manly moose didn’t eat trout! Now she lives all alone, deep in the forest Chomping her teeth on sweet little tourists…
